Srinagar: In a classic flipflop, the ruling Jammu and Kashmir National Conference removed a social media post, from party handle, regarding purported announcement of honorarium of Special Police Officers’ (SPOs), serving in Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
A post, shared from the party’s official social media handle, claimed an increase in the honorarium for SPOs, which quickly sparked reactions from different quarters. However after an hour, the post could no longer be seen at its official handles.
In a frantic damage control bid, the party announced removal of its Social Media Advisor to the Vice President, stating that the post ‘was shared without proper verification’.
“A recent post concerning SPOs honorarium was put out from various handles connected to the party & the Chief Minister. This post should not have been put out & was done without any attempt to verify or cross check the information being put out. While we have been strongly advocating for an increase in the honorarium & we are making every effort to see this done it hasn’t happened till now,” reads the post, as per Alfaaz – The Words.
“The person responsible has been taken to task & has been divested of his responsibility as Social Media advisor to VP JKNC”, it further reads.
