Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has announced a temporary shutdown of its official website from January 19 for technical upgradation, following recent disruptions that affected online access during Class 10 and 12 result announcements.
An official spokesperson said the website will remain unavailable for four to five days. All online services will be suspended during this period, including applications for re evaluation and requests for photocopies of answer scripts.
The Board stated that the shutdown is necessary to implement system upgrades in line with operational guidelines and to ensure smoother functioning once the website is restored.
The move comes after the Boardโs website faced outages on result day, leaving thousands of students unable to access their marks. Users were repeatedly shown messages citing technical issues, causing widespread concern among students and parents.
The disruptions drew social media comparisons with J&K Bankโs Mpay service, which has a reputation for outages during peak traffic periods such as festivals and salary credit days.
JKBOSE has in the meantime expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to students, parents, and other stakeholders. It advised users to plan submissions in advance and await official updates once the website becomes fully operational after the upgrade.
