J&K Reorganisation Act Amendment Bill to Be Tabled on Monday

Srinagar: The Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, is set to introduce the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, on Monday, December 16, which seeks to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, alongside the Government of Union Territories Act, 1963, and the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991.

The proposed amendments aim to align the timing of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, and Puducherry.

Meghwal will also introduce ‘The Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024,’ alongside the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, in the Lok Sabha.
