Jammu: The Jammu & Kashmir Nursing Council has postponed the practical examinations for various Paramedical and Nursing streams for the Oct-Nov 2024 session, causing anguish among the appearing students.

The exams were earlier scheduled to begin on May 13, 2025, but due to โ€œprevailing unavoidable circumstances in Jammu Division,โ€ the Council issued a circular dated May 10, 2025, announcing the postponement. However, no revised dates have been released yet.

This sudden delay has left thousands of students in distress. Many of these students belong to remote areas and have not yet received any official communication regarding the new exam schedule.

โ€œEven though the situation is now relatively calm, there is complete silence from the authorities. Students are mentally disturbed and uncertain about when theyโ€™ll be called back,โ€ said a student from Baramulla.

Students and parents are urging the J&K Nursing Council to issue the new date sheet as soon as possible, while also requesting that they be given adequate time to return and prepare, considering the travel challenges and stress they have recently endured.

Authorities are yet to respond to these concerns.
