Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Health Mission (NHM) Employees Association on Thursday voiced concern over the non-payment of salaries for the past three months, saying the delay has left employees facing financial strain.

In a statement, the Association noted that despite continuing to deliver essential healthcare services across the Union Territory, NHM staff have not received their monthly wages.

Muneer Andrabi, President of the Association, said that employees have been working round the clock to ensure healthcare delivery but are now under stress due to the prolonged delay. โ€œIt is disheartening to see dedicated staff struggle financially, especially when they remain fully committed to their duties,โ€ he said as per Alfaaz – The Words.

The Association also flagged the timing of the issue, pointing out that the ongoing harvest season has added to the challenges faced by workers in rural areas. Many, it said, depend on their salaries to support their families and cover basic expenses, including transport to work.

Calling on the government to expedite the release of wages, the Association warned that continued delay may force employees to resort to protests. โ€œWe appeal to the administration to resolve the issue at the earliest so that employees can continue their work without uncertainty,โ€ Andrabi said.
