J&K Government Sets High-Level Meeting Tomorrow to Streamline Recruitment & Governance

25/03/2025

Srinagar: In a bid to address administrative bottlenecks and enhance recruitment transparency, the Jammu and Kashmir General Administration Department (GAD) has scheduled meeting for tomorrow (Wednesday).

The session, to be chaired by the Chief Secretary of J&K, will convene at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu’s Meeting Hall, with Srinagar-based officials joining virtually from the Committee Room of the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, at 4:30 PM.

The meeting aims to tackle critical issues plaguing recruitment processes and governance frameworks.

Key discussion points, as per a meeting notice, include the current status of vacancies referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), delays in advertising posts, and unresolved selections stalled due to incomplete clarifications from departments.

Officials will also review pending Reserved Category (RDA) cases, delays in Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), and potential revisions to Recruitment Rules and RAS/SRO 43 provisions to modernize bureaucratic procedures.

All Administrative Secretaries, alongside the Secretary of JKPSC, the Chairperson of JKSSB, and the Secretary of JKSSB, have been directed to attend.

Ahead of the meeting, Administrative Secretaries are required to submit detailed reports on vacancies within their departments and the status of DPCs, adhering to formats outlined in recent official memorandums.
