Srinagar: As the assembly elections are left with the conduct of terminal phase, two senior politicians on Saturday announced an abrupt end to their campaigning.
Taking to micro-blogging site ‘X’, incumbent PDP Chairperson Mehbooba Mufti wrote, “Cancelling my campaign tomorrow in solidarity with the martyrs of Lebanon & Gaza especially Hassan Nasarullah.”
“We stand with the people of Palestine & Lebanon in this hour of immense grief & exemplary resistance (sic.),” reads the post as per Alfaaz – The Words.
Sitting Member Parliament and senior JKNC leader, Agha Syed Ruhulluh Mehdi, in an ‘X’, post wrote briefly wrote, “Calling off my campaign (sic.)”
The senior politician however hasn’t specified any reason for calling off his campaign.
Notably, tomorrow (Sunday) is the last day of campaigning for the third phase of elections, as the polling is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
