After Alliance U-turn By Dr. Farooq, Omar Gets Berth from Ganderbal After Negating To Contest All The While

Alfaaz – The Words Desk

Srinagar: After failing to withstand it’s stance on alliance by JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah, it has been yet another u-turn by son Omar Abdullah, who has secured his berth from Ganderbal, despite negating to contest all the while.

The party has announced a list of thirty-two candidates, among whom besides Omar included top party faces including Ali Mohammad Sagar from Hazratbal, Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami) from Kupwara, Mubarak Gul from Eidgah, Abdul Raheem Rather from Chrar-i-Shareef, Mir Saifullah from Trehgam among others.

Among the others to contest from the party ticket, as per Alfaaz – The Words, include; Mian Mehar Ali from Kangan (ST), Salman Ali Sagar from Hazratbal, Shameema Firdous from Habba Kadal, Ahsan Pardesi from Lal Chowk, Mushtaq Guroo from Chanapora, Tanvir Sadiq from Zadibal, Saif-ud-Din Bhat from Khan Sahib, Ali Mohammad Dar from Chadoora, Er. Khursheed from Gulab Ghar (ST), Yashu Vardhan Singh from Kalakote/Sunderbani, Surinder Chowdhury from Nowshera, Javid Chowdhury from Budhal (ST), Ajaz Ahmad Jan from Poonch Haveli, Javid Rana from Mendhar (ST), Javid Mirchal from Karnah, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone from Lolab, Chowdhury Mohammad Ramzan from Handwara, Irshad Rasool Kar from Sopore, Javid Ahmad Dar from Rafiabad, Dr. Sajad Shafi Uri from Uri, Javid Hussain Beigh from Baramulla, Farooq Ahmad Shah from Tangmarg, Javid Reyaz Bedar from Pattan, Hilal Akbar Lone from Sonawari, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi from Gurez (ST) and Ajay Kumar Sadhotra from Jammu North.

Even as Dr. Farooq Abdullah after earlier this month negated a pre-poll alliance, formed one with Congress, his son Omar Abdullah has been on record on multiple occasions saying that he won’t contest assembly elections until and unless it regains back its pre-2019 position. Whether the successive u-turns by the father-son duo will have any effect on the performance of the party will be an interesting thing to watch for.
