Jamia Islamia Waripora Gonipora Handwara Marks Annual Congregation, Felicitates 33 on Completion of Hifz

Kupwara: Jamia Islamia Institute Waripora Gonipora Handwara held an annual convocation here on Sunday.

The institute is one of its own for providing both English and Islamic education to boy Students.

The annual congregation was attended by Mufti Mohammad Ashraf, Imam Khateeb Handwara, Mufti Barkat Ahmad, Mufti Sajad Ahmad besides the officials from administration including ADC Handwara Nazir Ahmad, Tehsildar Handwara Shahbaz Ahmad and local islamic dignitaries were also present at the moment.

The scholars in their speeches unequivocally highlighted the importance of islamic knowledge and asked the participants to follow up the ways of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in letter and spirit.

“Recieving Quranic Knowledge and following the way of Islam will definitely change our lifestyle. This is the only Holy Book which has inspired everyone across the globe”, an scholar said on the occasion.

“Everyone knows we are witnessing a series of challenges these days. To curb these challenges and difficulties, we must need to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)”, another scholar said.

On the occasion, 33 boy Students were felicitated by the scholars for the memorization of Holy Quran (Hifz). The students were don with turbans – as an act of symbolism, by the scholars’ present on the occasion.

A large number of participants attended the day-long annual congregation to encourage the students for completing the course.
