Kupwara: The Indian Army’s Shakti Vijay Brigade, in partnership with USHA Silai School, organised a graduation ceremony in Tithwal to celebrate the successful completion of an online tailoring course for underprivileged women of the region.
The training programme, conducted from 28 July to 11 August 2025, was designed to equip women with practical tailoring skills, enhance their livelihood opportunities, and promote financial self-reliance. A total of twelve women trainees completed the course.
Sanajan Prodhan, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation (FWO), Shakti Vijay Brigade, presided over the ceremony and awarded certificates to the graduates. She applauded the participants for their commitment and encouraged them to utilise their newly acquired skills for income generation and entrepreneurship.
The initiative underscores the Army’s sustained efforts toward community development, women’s empowerment, and strengthening civil-military relations in the border areas. (via. Peerzada Zubair)
