Kupwara: The Indian Army, in collaboration with Quality Healthcare Hospital, organised a free medical camp at Radbugha, in Handwara outskirts, as part of its ongoing humanitarian and welfare outreach. The camp was jointly conducted by Chak Keegam Battalion and the hospital with the objective of improving access to basic healthcare services in the area.
A team of specialist doctors and paramedical staff provided free consultations, medical examinations, and essential medicines to residents. The medical team included the Regimental Medical Officer of Chak Keegam Camp, Dr Ab Majid Wani, gastroenterologist, Dr Aliza, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr Masarat and Dr Abid Gul, general physicians, Dr Shakir, gynaecologist, Dr Showkat, paediatrician, and Dr Sajid, orthopaedic specialist.
Special focus was placed on women, children, and elderly patients to ensure inclusive healthcare coverage. Services offered during the camp included ECG, diabetes testing, general health screening, diagnosis of common ailments, and basic health awareness counselling.
According to organisers, a total of 524 local residents availed the medical services during the camp. Locals welcomed the initiative and appreciated the availability of specialised healthcare facilities at their doorstep.
Officials said the programme aimed to improve civilian well being and strengthen trust and cooperation with local sections. Representatives of Quality Healthcare Hospital reiterated their commitment to community health initiatives and thanked the Indian Army for the collaboration.
