Kupwara: A flagging off ceremony was held at the Trehgam Company Operating Base (COB) of the 41 Rashtriya Rifles (Maratha Light Infantry) on 09 December 2024, marking the commencement of an educational tour for the youth of Kupwara to South India. The initiative aims to provide 15 bright and promising students from Kupwara district with a unique opportunity for learning, exposure, and cultural exchange.
The seven-day tour will take the students to several renowned institutions and facilities, including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Aerospace facilities, and the Amazon Development Center. In addition to the educational visits, the students will also explore the architectural and cultural landmarks of Bengaluru, such as the Bengaluru Palace, Tipu Sultan Palace, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, and Lalbagh Botanical Garden.
Accompanied by a teacher coordinator and three personnel from 41 RR, led by an officer, the students embarked on their journey with the blessings of their parents, who expressed pride and excitement for the educational opportunity. The tour was officially flagged off at 0930 hours from Trehgam, Kupwara.
This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to empowering youth through education and exposure, fostering their holistic development and broadening their perspectives.
