Srinagar: The Kupwara-Srinagar highway is largely out of access for the vehicular traffic movement as the flood-like situation triggered by incessant rains has damaged the road in a few places, especially at Kawari and Vodhpora areas.

In the videos and pictures available, it can be seen that the water from nallah Pohru has swollen to the extent that it is already overflowing to the areas in vicinity, posing a severe threat to the habitation and property alike.

The overflowing water has largely sent out of access the Kupwara-Srinagar highway with traffic stranded on both sides of the road.

Meanwhile, SDRF personnel have reached Natnussa, Kawari and its adjacent areas to ensure safety of people facing imminent threat of the impending situation.

Several other areas, especially the low-lying, have also been reportedly witnessing steep surge in water-levels, forcing the people to move to safer places.
