Kupwara: Mir Rasik ul Aiman, a student of Higher Secondary School (HSS) Potushai, has achieved a historic academic milestone by securing 497 out of 500 marks in the recently announced results of Secondary Level Board Examination.
Recognized as the State Topper by the Directorate of School Education, Rasik’s accomplishment brings significant honor to both the institution and the Kupwara District Education Department, currently led by CEO Peerzada Shah Mehraj ud Din.
The achievement was celebrated by HSS Potushai, which described Aiman as an “outstanding shining star” whose success underscores the school’s commitment to excellence.
Principal Nisara Bano lauded his dedication, stating, “We take immense pride in Rasik’s extraordinary feat. His consistency—from competing in RBI’s Regional Quiz in Delhi to topping the state exams—exemplifies perseverance. We are confident he will scale greater heights.”
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara, Mehraj u Din Shah, in the meantime commended the student’s performance as a testament to the district’s educational progress. The accolade was further amplified when the Director of School Education Dr. G.N Itoo felicitated Aiman, an honor the school regards as “a feather in our cap.”
Amid celebrations, the institution acknowledged logistical challenges. HSS Potushai, designated a “hanging school,” continues to face teaching staff shortages. The school credited Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Sogam, for his steadfast efforts in providing faculty support despite constraints.
The Kupwara Education Department and HSS Potushai extended their best wishes to Aiman for his future endeavors, hailing his result as a beacon of academic excellence in the region.
