Handwara: Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan hails the resolution on the restoration of special status as a historic expression of the will of the people, congratulating the party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and the government led by Honourable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for presenting this historic resolution in the Assembly.

“Today’s resolution powerfully reinforces our unwavering commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, declaring that our identity and dignity are non-negotiable,” he stated in a statement issued to Alfaaz – The Words.

In his statement, Chowdry Ramzan emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has always been the unwavering voice of the people, relentlessly dedicated to addressing their concerns and protecting their rights.

“Our manifesto has steadfastly championed the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s dignity, pride, and unique identity. We remain firm in our commitments—there will be no retreat,” he affirmed.

He also remarked that some political parties recently had accused the National Conference of stepping back from its promises.

“Today, with the passing of this resolution, this stands as a clear response to them, proving that the National Conference is steadfast in its commitments and will not turn back on its word,” he asserted, and further reassured the people that every promise made in the manifesto will indeed be fulfilled.

Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan also urged the Government of India to respect the clear mandate expressed by the people.

“This election unmistakably showed that the unilateral decision made on August 5, 2019—an unconstitutional move made without the people’s will/representation, which stripped away our identity, dignity, and downgraded our state to a Union Territory—has been firmly rejected by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Their stance is clear: that the decision taken on 5th august 2019 is unacceptable,” he concluded.
