Hardcore LeT Militant, Believed To Be Mastermind of Dangri & Kandi Attacks, Killed in Ongoing Rajouri Gunfight: Officials

Srinagar: A hardcore militant from Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit has been killed in an ongoing encounter in Rajouri district, officials said.

The officials said that a Pakistan national by the name Qauri, who has been a hardcore and highly ranked militant leader from Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit has been killed in the ongoing gunfight.

The slain militant, the officials said, had been active in the Rajouri-Poonch belt for the past one year and is also believed to be the mastermind of the Dangri and Kandi attacks.

“The slain militant an expert in IEDs, operating and hiding from caves and a trained sniper, was sent with a mission to revive militancy in the region”, the officials said further.

Meanwhile the gunfight is underway when this report is being filed.
