Handwara: In a bid to enhance operational preparedness and inter-agency coordination, the Handwara Police on Monday conducted a comprehensive law and order demonstration drill at the District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara.
The joint exercise, carried out in collaboration with the 92 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), simulated multiple real-time scenarios, including crowd control, management of unlawful assemblies, riot response, and coordinated actions during emergency situations. The aim was to evaluate the readiness, efficiency, and coordination of security personnel in handling potential public disturbances.
The drill was supervised by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Shri Mushtaq Ahmed Chowdhury (JKPS), who lauded the professionalism, discipline, and synergy displayed by all participating units.
“Regular drills of this nature are vital to ensuring our forces remain vigilant and prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any law and order situation,” said SSP Chowdhury. “The seamless coordination between Handwara Police and the CRPF reflects our shared commitment to maintaining peace, public safety, and regional stability.”
The exercise concluded with a debriefing session, during which key observations were discussed and feedback shared to enhance future response strategies.
This initiative underscores the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s proactive approach to capacity building and its dedication to upholding law, order, and public trust. (via. Aadil Akbar)
