Srinagar: MLA’s from twin constituencies Handwara and Kupwara on Sunday extended congratulations to senior journalist Yahya Sultan on being conferred with prestigious ‘State Award for Journalism’, on eve of 76th Republic Day.
Yahya is among seven outstanding mediapersons who was awarded with the coveted award, which as per a government notification carried an cash award of fifty-one thousand and a citation.
Taking to blogging site X (formerly Twitter), JKPC President & MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone wrote, “Congratulations to Yahya Sultan on getting the state award for journalism.”
On the other hand, MLA Kupwara Mir Mohammad Fayaz, extended his wishes to the senior journalist, wrote in an X post, “Congratulations to Yahya Sultan on receiving the State Award for Journalism. A well deserved honor for your outstanding work!”
The north Kashmir-based journalist, currently working with News 18 Network who also happens to be the President of Journalistic Fraternity Kupwara, has been hailed for his media standards from people cutting across different fields of life.
