Gunfight Erupts in North Kashmir

Srinagar: A fierce gunfight has broken out between militants and security forces along LoC in Tangdhar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

News agency GNS reported that a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Tangdhar.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

A senior police officer has in the meantime also confirmed about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
