Srinagar: In supression of its earlier order regarding opening of educational institutions tomorrow, the Jammu and Kashmir government has now announcing extension vis-a-vis the closure till March 7.

The decision comes amid widespread protests reported from parts of the Valley following the killing of Iranโ€™s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Making the fresh announcement, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the move has been taken to ensure the safety and security of students.

โ€œWe have decided to keep schools, colleges and universities closed till March 7,โ€ Itoo said.

She added that the government is closely monitoring the situation and a decision regarding the reopening of institutions will be taken only after assessing the ground circumstances.
