Baramulla: The Government Higher Secondary School Zaloora on Saturday observed an enchanting celebration of annual day function at school premises here.
Incharge Principal Ghulam Nabi Ganaie graced the occasion as Chief guest.
Among others, the function was also attended by Retired Headmaster Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone, Retired Lecturer Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Lecturer Haji Muneer Ahmad Lone, BDC Tujjar-cum-Sarpanch Zaloora, Former Namberdar Mohammad Maqbool Lone, Molvi Ajaz Ahmad Lone, Forester Altaf Hussain Lone along with teaching, non-teaching staffers and students.
Under the supervision of PET Farhat Ahmad Bhat, the student contingent carried the school flag for a march past to which the incharge Principal Ghulam Nabi along with the staff members took salute.
Tariq Ahmad Lone Teacher of the educational institute extended a warm welcome to the participants and other dignitaries while Lecturer Mohd Yousuf Lone presented the Annual Report of the school.
This was followed by mesmerizing cultural events, including Kashmiri Rouf, gazals, dances and diverse documentaries which transpired during the current academic session, leaving the participants mesmerized to their fill.
The attending dignitaries in their addresses unequivocally appreciated the efforts put in by the incumbent school principal, teaching and non-teaching faculty, students and other stakeholders in taking the institution to new and unprecedented horizons.
They laid emphasis on the sanctity of educational institutions and role of teachers in moulding and shaping the character of students.
Furthermore, the best-performing students during the current year were given certificates of appreciation, medals, mementos and trophies by Incharge Principal Ghulam Nabi.
At the end of the ceremony, vote of thanks was presented by Incharge Principal of the institution.
