Ganderbal Police Book Company Owner for ‘Overcharging’ Tourist Vehicles at Sonamarg

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ganderbal have registered a case against the owner of M/S Sher-i-Kashmir Construction Pvt. Ltd. on allegations of overcharging tourist vehicles by levying an unauthorized sanitation fee at the SDA Toll Post, Shudkadi, in Sonamarg.

Officials said FIR No. 02/2026 has been lodged under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Sonamarg. “An investigation has been initiated to determine the legality of the collections and identify any violations.”

The officials in the meantime warned that any individual or agency found indulging in illegal or unauthorized fee collection will face strict legal action.
