Kupwara: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara apprehended an absconder, evading arrest for over six years, here on Tuesday.
“Continuing its crackdown against absconders, Kupwara Police has arrested an absconder who was evading his arrests from the last six years,” reads a statement issued here.
“A Police Party of Police Station Kralpora arrested one absconder, identified as Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Sona ullah Mir resident of Sirajpora Vilgam Kupwara, had been evading arrest for a long time in a case of stone pelting in FIR No. 94/2017.”
“Following the arrest, the accused person was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law for further legal proceedings from where he was further lodged in District Jail Kupwara,” reads the statement.
“Police are implementing rigorous measures to ensure that the individuals who have absconded themselves be apprehended and held accountable for his criminal actions. Kupwara police is committed to act in accordance with the law against those who engage in criminal activities. The dedication to combating Crime remains steadfast,” the statement reads further.
