Srinagar: Former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) from Kupwara Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah on Saturday joined Bharatiya Janata Party.
Shah joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of party’s J&K unit President Ravindra Raina.
Shah, who was elected as Member of the Legislative Council during his association with Late Bhim Singh led Panthers Party, however left the party to join Jammu and Kashmir National Conference in year 2019.
Turning his back to the Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s JKNC, Shah has joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party with an eye on upcoming elections in quest for a ‘better fortune’.
Shah was warmly welcomed into the party fold by Ravindra Raina and other BJP leaders present on the occasion of his joining the party.
