Father Passes Away Day Before Marriage Ceremony of 2 Daughters in Handwara

Handwara: In a tragic incident of its type, a man in his fifties, died just a day before the onset of formal marriage ceremony of his two daughters in Handwara.

As learnt, Nissar Ahmad Mir (50), a known businessman from Haril Handwara passed away, on intervening Thursday and Friday, overshadowing the much important event in the lives of two to-be brides.

The untimely demise of Mir has forced the two families to call off the marriage, celebrations of which would have started with Saturday (Mehandi Raat) night only, and the duo bade adieu (Rukhsati) on Sunday.

The demise of the noble soul has descended a pall of utter sorrow and gloom over the entire area.
