Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST (K) & CUK Kickstart Weeklong Training Program on Data Analysis Skills

Ganderbal: Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir, and Central University of Kashmir on Tuesday Kick Started One-Week Training Program on Data Analysis Skills in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District, Sponsored by Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

Division of Social and Basic Sciences, Faculty of Forestry, Benhama-Watlar, SKUAST-Kashmir, in collaboration with Department of Law, School of Legal Studies Central University of Kashmir, has launched a dynamic one-week training program entitled “Advanced Data Analysis Skills in Science and Business Management .”

This initiative is being sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the Government of India, kicked off on December 12th , 2023, and will run through one week.

The inaugural event commenced with a warm welcome from Prof.(Dr.) Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean School of Legal Studies. He underscored the pivotal role of encouraging participants to become job providers and provided a comprehensive overview of the training program, emphasizing the significance of data analysis skills in contemporary sciences and business sectors. As the Program Coordinator, Dr. M. Iqbal Jeelani shed light on various aspects of the training program, placing a strong emphasis on its hands-on approach.

The program’s objective is to equip participants with advanced data analysis skills crucial in both scientific and business management. Prof. S.Naseem Geelani, Head, Division of Social & Basic Sciences, delivered a detailed insight into the role of Data Science in the modern world and emphasized the importance of data analysis skills in business industries.

Prof. (Dr.) S.A Gangoo, Dean Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir and Guest of Honour for event, stressed the necessity of such programs in promoting the importance data analysis skills and statistical packages, especially among educated youth.

Prof.(Dr.) Mushtaq A. Siddiqi, Former Vice Chancellor, IUST and Chief Guest of the event, gave detailed talk on importance of data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning algothrims in cotemporary sciences.

He shed light on various aspects of modern age technology augmented with artificial intelligence where data analysis skills play a very pivotal role.

He expressed optimism that this training program would significantly benefit the participants.

The Inaugural event witnessed the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff from Department of Law, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir, along with participants from various fields.

The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Hilal Ahmad Najar, Assistant Professor Department of Law, CUK and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr.Rehna Shawl, Assistant Professor Department of Law, CUK. Dr. S.N Geelani expressed gratitude for the support and efforts of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. N.A Ganie and Director Planning and Monitoring Prof. H. R. Naik, as well as Dean Faculty of Forestry.
The coordinator also extended appreciation to the sponsoring agency, the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the Government of India, based in New Delhi.

This collaborative initiative between SKUAST-Kashmir and School of Legal Studies, CUK marks a significant stride in advancing skills and promoting the importance of data analysis skills in diverse sectors.

The training program aligns with the evolving needs of the modern world, offering participants a hands-on learning experience and valuable insights into the application of statistical software in business management and allied sectors.
