Srinagar: India (A) continued their winning streak in the Emerging Asia Cup with a dominant performance, securing a comprehensive victory over UAE by 7 wickets.
The match, held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground, saw all-round brilliance from Rasikh Salam and Abhishek Sharma, helping their side climb to the top spot of Group B, overtaking Pakistan with two wins from two games.
The Kashmir-born seamer Rasikh Salam continued with his good form, taking three wickets in a single over even as conceding meagre 15 runs. Rasikh had taken two wickets against Pakistan Shaheens even as hitting the lone ball he faced to a maximum.
Abhishek Sharma on the other hand found his form, making key contributions with both bat and ball. It was his bowling, however, that first set the tone for India A’s commanding performance. The 24-year-old delivered a crucial spell, picking up the wicket of UAE captain Basil Hameed, in what was a wicket-maiden over. India A’s bowlers were relentless, restricting UAE to a modest total of 107.
India A’s next challenge will be against Oman on October 23, their final group-stage fixture before the knockout stages of the Emerging Asia Cup commence. The team, led by Tilak Verma, will be keen to continue their dominant form.
