Srinagar: A man was injured even as many residential developing cracks in the aftermath of successive earthquake jolts, mainly felt in north Kashmir parts, this morning.
As learnt by Alfaaz- The Words, a man suffered foot injuries after he jumped out of a window in a frantic bid to escape the earthquake.
People, especially in north Kashmir, could be seen rushed out of their homes, wailing and crying, filling the atmosphere with horror.
Many houses and other structures in the twin districts of Baramulla and Kupwara, as suggested by pictures, have developed cracks.
As per details available, the first earthquake occurred at 06:45:57 IST, at the latitude 34.37 degrees north and longitude 74.16 degrees east.
The second tremor measuring 4.8, occurred at 6:52:29 IST, at Lat: 34.20 N, Long: 74.31 E.
The epicenter of both the jolts was Baramulla, occurring at a depth of 5 and 10 kilometers respectively.
Meanwhile, people from different parts have claimed to have experienced at least four successive tremors, with the last two nonetheless with less intensity.
