Srinagar: Dutch Researcher Frank Hoogerbeets, who shot to fame for predicting earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria, Friday mocked newspapers for apparently blowing out of proportion an article shared by him on ‘earthquake potential’ in Kashmir.

“Newspapers are a sickness in this world. I shared a scientific article about earthquake potential in Kashmir. THAT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S COMING,” wrote the Researcher on ‘X’, suffixing the post with a clown emoji.

The Researcher however didn’t named any of the newspapers, he was hinting at for the purported skewed reporting of the article – written by two Kashmir-based journalists Sajid Raina and Attaul Munim Zahid – shared by him.

Pertinent to mention here that, the Researcher at Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS) is a known earthquake forecaster who had predicted the major earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria days before the devastating event. Hoogerbeets has also predicted several other earthquakes that have occurred in different parts of the world in the recent past.
