Kupwara: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara apprehended two individuals with narcotics, said a police spokesperson here on Friday.

“Today, at approximately 1800 hours, a checkpoint established by Police Post Bazaar at Galizoo apprehended two individuals found acting suspiciously during routine checking. Upon conducting a personal search, the police party recovered 10 grams of a heroin-like substance from their possession,” the spokesperson said in a statement issued to Alfaaz – The Words.

“During the preliminary inquiry, the apprehended individuals disclosed their identities as Mohd Ashraf Khan, son of Ghulam Ali Khan, a resident of Halmatpora, and Irshad Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Dar, a resident of Halmatpora. In this regard, a case has been registered under FIR No. 09/2025 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act at Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been taken on.”

“Kupwara Police remains resolute in its mission to combat drug trafficking and ensure a drug-free society. The public is encouraged to report any information related to drug-related activities to their nearest police station,” the spokesperson said further.
