Kargil: Dr. Nisar Ahmad Dar from the Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh was on November 3, 2024 honored with the National Urdu Award 2024 during a prestigious ceremony organized by the ‘Urdu Shikshak Karamchari Sangh’ at Ghalib Academy. The award was presented by Chaudhry Wasal Ali, the national president of the Urdu Shikshak Karamchari Sangh, at the Ghalib Academy in Delhi.
Dr. Nisar Ahmad Dar has been committed to teaching Urdu language and culture to students for the past four years.
Recognizing his significant contributions to the promotion, development, and advancement of Urdu, the National Urdu Shikshak Karamchari Sangh awarded him the National Urdu Award.
Hailing from Rohmoo Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Dar currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Urdu Department at the Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh, where he teaches Urdu and regularly trains students in cultural heritage.
Dr. Nisar Ahmad Dar is also a prolific writer and author, with articles featured in major national journals and newspapers. He has published four books: Fikr-o-Fan (Thought and Art), Iqbal Ka Tasavvur-e-Mard-e-Momin (Iqbal’s Concept of the Ideal Muslim), Naqd-o-Nazar (Criticism and Review), and Tanqeedi Meezan (Critical Balance). He has participated in over 40 national and international seminars and has published more than 40 research papers to date.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Dar is an inspiring figure for the younger generation involved in literary and poetic studies, guiding them in modern thinking and research. His writings exemplify both literary and artistic depth, with a contemporary sensibility that stands out.
