Dr Abdul Majid Wani, MD Quality Healthcare Hospital, Receives Int’l Shiksham Award in Dubai

Srinagar: Dr Abdul Majid Wani, Managing Director of Quality Healthcare Hospital, Drugmulla in Kupwara district, has been conferred the International Shiksham Award under the Saksham International Awards 2025.

The award was presented at the Saksham Summit held in Dubai last week. It recognises excellence in entrepreneurship and contributions to rural healthcare.

According to a statement, the honour acknowledges Dr Wani’s role in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in rural and border areas, particularly in Kupwara district. The award, the statement says, reflects Wani’s efforts to improve access to quality medical services in geographically remote parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr Wani is the founder of Quality Healthcare Hospital, a 50 bedded multi specialty NABH accredited facility located along the National Highway at Drugmulla. The hospital is among the earliest advanced healthcare institutions in rural Jammu and Kashmir and offers diagnostic and treatment services that were previously unavailable in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Wani said improving healthcare facilities in peripheral areas is essential to ensure equitable access to medical care. He stressed the need for sustained focus on rural health infrastructure for balanced regional development.

The award was presented to Dr Wani by Dr Sarsang Nahajan and Rabeeca Dahal in the presence of delegates from several countries.
