Srinagar: In a concerted effort to address menstrual health awareness, the Srinagar Hub of the Global Shapers Community organized a workshop titled “Don’t Whisper Embracing Monthly Rhythm” at Al Huda Public School Khayam on Saturday.

This initiative is part of a long-term project undertaken in collaboration with the Noida Hub of Global Shapers and Menstrupedia, a socially impactful Indian startup offering educational materials through comic books, workshops, and animated videos.

The project, spearheaded by the Curator of The Srinagar Hub, Syed Uzma Hamid, aims to educate and raise awareness about menstrual health among adolescent girls in Kashmir. The goal is to reach 5,000 adolescent girls through these workshops by the end of 2024.

The Global Shapers Community, an initiative by the World Economic Forum (WEF), serves as a platform bringing together young leaders and change-makers worldwide. With a network of city-based hubs across 150+ countries, boasting 500+ hubs globally, the Srinagar Hub, established just last year, stands as the sole hub associated with the Global Shapers Community in Kashmir.

The overarching mission of the Global Shapers Community is to champion positive change, foster innovation, and facilitate collaboration among young leaders, working collectively towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
