DC Kupwara Visits Muqam-e-Shahwali Shrine, Reviews Arrangements, Participates in Annual Urs

Kupwara: On the auspicious occasion of Urs Sharief of Hazrat Zeti Shah Wali (RA), Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan (IAS), Wednesday visited the revered shrine at Muqam Shahwali to attend the annual Urs of the Sufi saint. Sudan on the occasion also reviewed the arrangements put in place for the annual event.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Mufti Fareed ud- Din, Tehsildar Drugmulla Syed Basharat Rasool and officers from various line departments.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of the arrangements and interacted with devotees and members of the local community to obtain firsthand feedback on key services such as sanitation, potable water supply, electricity, medical aid, and crowd regulation.

While appreciating the efforts made by local administration in unison with shrine management, Sudan emphasized the need for sustained coordination among departments to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the holy occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner in the meantime reiterated the administration’s commitment to facilitate all necessary amenities for the visiting devotees and stressed the pivotal role of every department in upholding the sanctity and spirit of the revered occasion.

Pertinent to mention here that the Urs Sharief at Muqam Shahwali attracts thousands of devotees from across the district and beyond, and the district administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure its successful and peaceful observance.

The Deputy Commissioner later on visited Tehsil Office Drugmulla and took assessment of routine office work and construction work of Tehisl office. She also inspected the Nyabat office and Patwarkhana at Goriwan Khargund Drugmulla.
