Srinagar: Hours after Alfaaz – The Words highlighted the inspiring story of Ulfat Hameed from Tekipora Lolab, who secured an impressive All-India Rank of 701 in NEET 2025 through self-study, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, felicitated the young achiever at his office on Thursday.
The DC congratulated Ulfat for her resilience in overcoming personal hardships being an orphan (having lost her father several years before) and financial challenges without the aid of formal coaching. Calling her “a role model for the students of Kupwara,” he assured her that the district administration will provide every possible support to help her pursue her medical education.
During the interaction, Ulfat expressed her dream of becoming a doctor to serve society, especially the underprivileged. The DC lauded her vision and encouraged her to maintain the same dedication and humility in the journey ahead.
The gesture has been widely welcomed across the district, with many noting how Ulfat’s achievement having received official recognition, amplifying her story as a symbol of hope and determination for the youth of Kashmir.
