Kupwara: The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS) on Thursday conducted a day-long extensive tour of Lolab and other areas of the district to inspect the progress of several ongoing water supply schemes being executed under JJM.
During the inspection, the District Development Commissioner reviewed the construction of various water supply schemes, including WSS Surigam, WSS Wavoora, WSS Bun- Maidanpora, WSS Krusan, WSS Darpora, WSS Gundmanchar, WSS Walkul and WSS Cheepora Kandhar under Languishing.
The inspection focused on assessing the implementation progress, quality of work and adherence to timelines.
The DC stressed on the concerned engineers to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of all ongoing works for their time-bound completion and directed for regular monitoring of works.
While taking the stock of ongoing work at WSS Krusan the District Development Commissioner directed concerned engineers to complete the Mechanical portion of the Schemes in the shortest possible time so that Clean drinking water facility is provided to the people.
DC held interaction with local residents and patiently listened to their grievances.
While interacting with the locals, She said that Jal Jeevan Mission schemes are crucial for several reasons as JJM aims to provide piped water supply to all rural households, ensuring access to safe and potable drinking water. “Overall, JJM schemes play a vital role in improving public health, empowering communities, stimulating economic development, and promoting environmental sustainability in rural areas” Ayushi Said.
Later, the District Development Commissioner also Visited Shahwali Muqam where she took on -the- spot appraisal of the progress of WSS Muqam Shahwali.
DC directed the executing agency to speed up the pace of the work and undertake extensive embedment of pipelines.
The District Development Commissioner was accompanied by EXen PHE, Rafiq Ahmad Wani, District Project Manager JJM Mohammad Hidayatuallah, AEEs of Mechanical and Civil wings.
