Srinagar: A day after suffering major heart attack, renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi was on Saturday discharged from Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.
Qasmi’s office had on Friday informed through a media statement that the scholar was hospitalized and put in ICU, after suffering a major heart attack.
The scholar, counted among the top lot within and beyond Jammu and Kashmir, received unrelenting and dedicated care and treatment at the tertiary hospital. As the vitals showed significant improvement after overnight stay, the doctors today discharged Mufti Nazir Qasmi from the hospital.
Extending profound gratitude to all those showing their concern during the course of time, Mufti Nazir Qasmi’s office in a statement said that they are overwhelmed by the love and affection they have received, especially from the scholars, religious organizations and student community.
The office has expressed special gratitude to the doctors’ team for their dedication to ensure Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi’s early recovery.
The statement in the meantime says that due to strict medical advice, people are being requested to put on hold their plans to visit the scholar till he recovers fully. “Once his health is fully restored, you’ll be welcome to visit and meet him,” reads the statement, as per Alfaaz – The Words.
Pertinent to mention here that Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi, known for his astute acumen and knowledge of religion besides having a firm grip on worldly affairs, is a Kashmiri Sunni Islamic scholar and jurist who currently is serving as the Grand Mufti of Darul Uloom Raheemiyyah Bandipora. The scholar is an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband and the Imārat-e-Sharia; and a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and general secretary of the Majlis-e-Fiqhi, Jammu and Kashmir.
