Dalhousie Public School Kupwara Celebrates World Heritage Day with Enthusiasm

Kupwara: Dalhousie Public School Kupwara celebrated World Heritage Day with great fervor and educational spirit, aiming to raise awareness among students about the importance of preserving cultural and historical heritage.

The event witnessed active participation from students who presented a live demonstration on the theme of “Heritage Scarcity,” showcasing their understanding of the pressing need to preserve endangered cultural sites and traditions.

Various students also delivered impactful speeches highlighting different aspects of world heritage and its relevance in modern times.

The program was graced by Dr. Reyaz, Senior Lecturer in Botany at GHSS Kupwara, who attended the event as the Chief Guest, and Salafi Mushtaq, a renowned academician, writer, and orator, who was present as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Reyaz emphasized the importance of celebrating World Heritage Day and underlined the need to uphold cultural ethics and preserve the rich legacy passed down through generations. He praised the school’s initiative in instilling these values among young learners.

In his address, Salafi Mushtaq lauded the efforts of the school administration, particularly appreciating the dedication and vision of Principal Showkat Shaheen and the teaching staff. He remarked that such events play a pivotal role in grooming responsible and culturally-aware citizens.

A notable highlight of the program was a thought-provoking speech delivered by veteran teacher Bashir Ahmad Bhat, who eloquently spoke on the significance of heritage in shaping identity and fostering unity.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks presented by Principal Showkat Shaheen, who expressed gratitude to the guests and applauded the students and staff for their commendable efforts in making the event a success.

The celebration stood as a testament to the school’s commitment towards holistic education, cultural awareness, and community engagement.
