Kupwara: The annual Lolab Fest – 2023, held over two days, reached a grand culmination with enthralling performances from artists from all across the Valley.
“The picturesque valley of Lolab in Kashmir came alive once again as the much-awaited Lolab Fest 2023 kicked off in grandeur and style. This annual extravaganza, known for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant traditions, and delightful festivities, drew thousands of visitors from near and far. As the sun cast a warm glow over the meadows and the scent of blossoming flowers filled the air, the 2023 Lolab Fest promised to be a memorable and immersive experience for all who attended. This year’s event, like that in the past, showcased the diverse cultural tapestry of the region, uniting people in a spirit of joy and camaraderie”, reads a statement issued here.
“As the second day from traditional music and dance to delectable local cuisine and a myriad of handicrafts, the Lolab Mela offered a captivating glimpse into the heart of this enchanting valley. Malang Band and Sufi group of Yonus Lolabi charged the crowd to dance along and make the evening memorable.”
“Undoubtedly with this kind of energy in the valley of Lolab, the list of chief guests is long enough to put the milestone in the history of Land of Love and Beauty. Over 10,000 locals from Lolab as well as from Kupwara and beyond gathered to contribute to the Badalta Kashmir”, the statement reads.
“The mega event was graced by Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Mining Department and Commissioner state Taxes Department J&K and Major General Girish Kalia, VSM, GOC 28 Division as the chief guest of the evening with senior dignitaries of civil administration and Indian Army.”
“Over a hundred students, teachers, civil organisers of various events and youth who participated in sports events were felicitated by the dignitaries to appreciate their efforts and make the Lolab Fest successful and to boost their morale to further progress towards positive direction”, the statement reads.
“22 October 2023 may be the last day of Lolab Fest-2023 but surely it is the beginning of Kashmir towards progressiveness, positivity and thriving. The success of Lolab Mela 2023 is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the organizers, the talent of the performers, and the enthusiasm of the attendees”, reads the statement.
“As we bid farewell to this year’s celebration, let us look forward to Lolab Mela 2024, with the hope that it will be an even greater celebration of the cultural treasures that make the Lolab Valley a jewel of Kashmir. Until then, the echoes of laughter, the beats of the dhol, and the warmth of the Lolab community will stay with us, a reminder of the enduring magic of this enchanting corner of the world”, the statement concludes.
