Cop Presumed Dead in Karnah Road Mishap

Kupwara: A head constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police is presumed to have died after falling into a deep gorge while travelling along Sadhna Top in Karnah area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Sunday evening.

The official told Alfaaz – The Words, that one Ghulam Rasool of Chanjmulla Handwara, posted at Police Post Taad Karnah, while travelling towards Kupwara in his Alto car bearing number JK09B 2325, met with a fatal road accident upon reaching Sadhna Top.

“A police team reached the site and started a rescue operation at the site,” the official said.

“We are yet to receive any final information from the team involved in the rescue operation,” the official said, adding, “Once there is any credible information, it will be shared accordingly.”
