Srinagar: Consumer Court Baramulla has directed the Treasury Officer Baramulla to seize the salary account of the Power Development Department in the district over ‘non-compliance’ of orders.
The move has come in the backdrop of Consumer Court Baramulla delivering a verdict in a case titled Abdul Ahad Khan versus Assistant Executive Engineer PDD Baramulla. The complainant had approached the court with the plea that the Department had made a ‘frivolous power bill’ on his name, following which the Court directed the Opposite Party (herein PDD) to pay an amount in tune of rupees 30000 as compensation towards the complainant for putting him to mental agony.
As the Opposite Party (PDD), failed to comply to the order of the Court, dated December 28, 2023, the Coram headed by Peerzada Qousar Hussain with Nyla Yaseen as member, directed Treasury Officer Baramulla to seize the account of Power Development Department till next date of hearing.
