CM Omar Abdullah Vacates from Budgam Seat, Retains Ganderbal Segment Instead

Srinagar: Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah has vacated himself from Budgam assembly segment and retained Ganderbal segment instead, announced Speaker protem Mubarak Gul here on Monday.

The incumbent Chief Minister, who had lost to AIP Patron Er Rashid in Lok Sabha elections by a significant margin, staged a strong comeback, winning on Budgam and Ganderbal assembly segments.

With Omar’s vacation from the Budgam seat, the segment will undergo fresh elections anytime soon.
