Bridge Connecting Handwara With Highway Caves In, Vehicular Movement Suspended

Srinagar: Amid ongoing polling process, a vital bridge connecting Handwara with highway, caved in leading to suspension of vehicular movement.

As learnt by Alfaaz – The Words, a bridge near Braripora caved in abruptly this afternoon, forcing the authorities to suspend the vehicular movement. “The authorities concerned have erected concertina wires on both sides of the affected bridge to avoid movement of all sorts of vehicles till further orders.”

When contacted, ADC Handwara told Alfaaz – The Words, that Beacon department has been intimated and a team is expected to assess the damage in a short while. “The team will see if the bridge is worth movement, and we will accordingly let the people know about it.”
