New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan as the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) candidate for the upcoming election to the post of Vice President of India.
The announcement was made by BJP National President J.P. Nadda, who said the decision was taken after consultations within the alliance.
Radhakrishnan, a senior BJP leader from Tamil Nadu, has previously served as a Member of Parliament from Coimbatore. He was appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra in 2023 and has since been actively engaged in public service.
With this nomination, the NDA has formally set the stage for the vice-presidential election.
