Handwara: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum on Saturday held a meeting in Chontipora, falling in Zone Mawer, to discuss the overall performance and achievements of the forum across Jammu & Kashmir.
During the meeting, Chairman JK Teachers’ Forum Mohd Amin Khan asked all Zonal and District presidents to present assessment reports of their respective areas.
Nearly all the portfolio holders including District president JKTF Kupwara Mehraj Din Zarger present on the occasion expressed their satisfaction over the performance of the Forum office bearers.
Chairman Teachers’ Forum thanked all the portfolio holders for their support, cooperation, trusting and choosing M Amin Khan as the best leader to grow and succeed. “We will seek to build this trust manifold by preparing the students to excel in this world and hereafter,” Khan said on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that it was a first-of-its-kind meeting organized by Zonal President Teachers Forum Zone Mawer Master Nazir Ahmad Bhat.
The JKTF President on the eve felicitated Master Nazir Ahmad Bhat, head teacher at Upper Primary School Chontipora Mawer, for his sheer dedication and enthusiasm towards the students and towards the school alike.
Notably, Bhat has donated a sum of five lac fifty five thousand from his own pocket to renovate the UPS Chontipora Mawer. It is said that at the time Bhat was posted at the school, it only had two rooms and some thirty children on roll. Bhat’s efforts over the years have seen the roll reaching to over 160 with the infrastructure at the same time witnessing quite an improvement.
JKTF President M Amin Khan took the occasion to highlight the issue vis-a-vis grant of promotion to the teachers in Kashmir province. “It was a welcome step that the government promoted many officials and teachers in the Education Department from Jammu, but it left a bad taste as the lot awaiting their promotions in Kashmir were not considered,” Khan said, adding, “One fails to understand that whenever there is anything to take action about, it always is against those from Kashmir but whenever there is any gain it is bestowed upon those from the other province.”
Khan, while extending his gratitude to Principal Secretary Education Alok Kumar, said that Mr. Kumar has been highly proficient and diligent with his services. “We expect that Mr. Kumar will consider all genuine demands we have forwarded before him, for an early redressal,” Khan said further.
