Srinagar: In response to the recent escalation of cross-border shelling that has caused significant damage and loss of life in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) convened an extraordinary meeting on Sunday to address the crisis and extend immediate support to the affected communities.
Recognizing the urgent need for relief and rehabilitation, Awami Ittihad Party, as per media statement, has deployed multiple teams to reach out to the hardest-hit areas, including Karnah, Nowgam, Uri, Chowkibal, Machil and other affected areas where civilian lives and infrastructure have been severely impacted said party North kashmir Spokesman Adv Shahnawaz Mir.
“These teams, comprising party volunteers, medical personnel, and relief coordinators, are tasked with assessing the damage, providing essential supplies, and offering support to displaced families.In the meeting chaired by MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed,” reads the statement as per Alfaaz – The Words.
The party in the meantime condemned the unprovoked shelling that has led to the tragic loss of civilian lives, including children, and injuries to many others, and expressed solidarity with the affected families and called for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities to protect innocent lives. “Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones and those displaced by this violence.”
The Awami Ittehad Party, the statement reads, is committed to standing with the people of Jammu and Kashmir during this challenging time. Our teams are on the ground to provide relief, listen to the concerns of the affected, and advocate for their needs.
“AIP’s relief teams are distributing food, blankets, medical supplies, and other essentials to families in relief camps and affected villages. The party is also coordinating with local authorities to ensure safe evacuation and rehabilitation efforts for residents near the Line of Control (LoC).”
Additionally, AIP has urged the government to expedite compensation and reconstruction efforts for those who have lost homes and livelihoods.
The Awami Ittehad Party reaffirms its commitment to peace, justice, and the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “We call on all stakeholders to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further suffering and restore stability in the region,” the statement further reads.
