Kupwara: Awami Itihad Party’s senior leader and Constituency incharge Handwara Advocate Majid Banday Tuesday appealed administration to resume State Roads Transport Corporation bus service between Tarathpora and Srinagar to alleviate the sufferings of people.
Banday in a statement issued here, said that the area consists of a huge chunk of population who face severe hardships with regard to their travel to Srinagar.
He said that especially the students, shopkeepers and employees face severe difficulties while reaching Kupwara due to lack of direct transport service. “The people from our area are forced to visit Handwara or Kupwara to board the Srinagar-bound vehicles”.
“The authorities started bus service last year but suddenly stopped the service, leaving residents in lurch”.
“We urge authorities to resume the RTC bus service at the earliest to ease the hardships of people,” Banday said.
“We also appeal Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan to look into the matter so that this genuine demand of people is addressed at an earliest,” added Banday.
