Authorities Seal Two Petrol Outlets in Lalpora for ‘Fuel Quantity Tampering’

Lalpora (Kupwara): Authorities on Tuesday sealed two petrol outlets in Lalpora Lolab, after alleged discrepancies were found during an inspection.

According to officials, the inspection team led by Tehsildar Lalpora Dr. Masroor Gayas in presence Inspector Legal Metrology Department Tanveer Ahmad, SHO Sogam Javid Ahmad, TSO Dooniwari and other officials, acting on public complaints over ‘fuel quantity tampering’, visited and subsequently found that the fuel dispensers at the outlets were dispensing quantities less than what was being charged to customers, constituting a clear case of cheating and manipulation.

Acting promptly on the findings, the Tehsildar ordered immediate sealing of both petrol pumps and ordered for initiation of necessary legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, the authorities said such inspections will continue across the area to ensure transparency and protect consumers from unfair trade practices.
