Srinagar: Australian ODI captain Patt Cummins, who led his team to a historic world cup win against India, has shattered all records to become the highest-ever buy in the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
Cummins who started with a base price of two crore, saw bids from MI, CSK, RCB and SRH, but it eventually was SRH which won the war albeit at a whopping price of rupees 20.5 Cr – highest ever.
The previous record was for Sam Curran who was bought by Punjab Kings for ₹18.50 crore last year.
Shockingly Steve Smith, who has been a regular member of Australian T20 squad, went unsold.
(Note: The auction continues and if any significant development happens, we will let you know).
