Armyman Killed During Blasting Activity for Road Construction Work in North Kashmir

Srinagar: An Armyman lost his life during blasting activity for a road construction work in the Putah Khan Gali area of Trehgam in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.

News agency GNS quoted a senior police officer as saying that blasting was being carried out as part of the road construction when an explosion critically injured the soldier. He was immediately evacuated to Drugmulla Military Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The deceased has been identified as Havildar Zubair Ahmad of the 13 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further proceedings are underway.
